How The Subconscious Mind Works

The subconscious mind governs all your habits. It makes sure you do things a certain way.

You have certain routines you follow, things you do automatically without thinking about it. You don’t think about breathing, you just do it. You don’t think about which foot to put first when you take a step. You just take a step. All these habits are said to be controlled by the subconscious mind.

How does the subconscious know to follow these habits? And if it can follow these habits can you give it new habits to follow? Habits that will lead to success, more wealth and help you achieve your goals. Or habits that will just make your life better.

Let’s take a look at the possibilities.

The Power of The Subconscious Mind

Your subconscious mind picks up on your habits and simply says: you keep doing these things over and over again, you must really want to do this. So I’ll just take it from here and make sure you keep doing them. Don’t think about it anymore. I’ll just make it happen.

So that’s why when you take the same road to work everyday you’ll likely go towards work every time you’re on that road. Hey, even I’ve done that.

It happens. Your subconscious mind is just making sure you follow your routine.

So how can you influence the subconscious mind so that you create new habits, the kind that will make your life easier, more pleasant or at least lead to you having greater success in life?

The subconscious mind picks up on your thoughts and beliefs that you carry or repeat to yourself over and over again. It follows your habits of thinking and your beliefs. Your beliefs are really thoughts that have been repeated over and over again. It says these are your habits of thinking so I’ll just make sure you keep thinking and believing this.

Now here’s where the power of the subconscious takes over. To make sure you maintain your habits of thinking and believing, your subconscious creates situations in your life that reflect what you think and believe. The subconscious does this to insure you continue to follow your habits.

And it is this process that give you the power to change and re-shape your life.

Simply by changing your thought habits, changing what you regularly think about,  you can change your beliefs and give your subconscious mind a new habit of thinking and believing to follow.

So let’s say you want to earn more money, then you would create thoughts and beliefs that say you can make money. Once these new thoughts become a habit of thinking your subconscious will create situations in your life so that you make more money.

Sounds easy enough. But to get your subconscious to do this you have to take control of your thinking, change the thoughts that are in your mind everyday and create new thoughts and new beliefs. Sure this can be done, but it will take some time. And there are many steps involved.

Also, there are those who argue that the subconscious doesn’t govern your life and you can’t change anything that’s on your subconscious.

But more and more studies show that the subconscious does exists and that you can direct this power to change your current situation. It will just take work.

The first step to creating changes in your life is to re-direct the subconscious mind to create more of what you want by changing your thoughts and beliefs. To that track your thoughts daily and change those that don’t help you. Change the negative thoughts and create thoughts that help you succeed or allow you enjoy the success you want. Work with this process everyday until you form new habits of thinking.

Your subconscious mind will pick up on these new habits and create situations to reflect your new beliefs. This is the power of the subconscious mind and it is a power that you can direct and influence.
